Battlefield Vs. Call of Duty Timeline [Infographic]

The most popular competitive multiplayer games not only for Xbox 360, but also PC and PS3 are the Call of Duty and Battlefield series. So what happens when you compare the two series side to side in terms of success?

The first CoD title dates from 2003, and was released by Infinity Ward. The most recent entry, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set for release on the 8th of November. Battlefield, on the other side, began with Battlefield 1942 by EA, back in 2002. Both became instant classics of the first person shooter genre, and remained popular for the years  to come thanks to its several mods, sequels, spin-offs and DLC. The availability of the franchise means that pretty much, no matter your preference of platform, you can enjoy the series is some form. They could be credited as one of the main causes of the current age of FPS in the world of gaming along with other franchises like Quake or Half-Life.

CoD and Battlefield both remain popular to this very day, as new gamers discover the fast paced action and addictive gameplay of the series. With great graphics, amazing soundtrack, and a story line that provides exactly what gamers want, both the games have all the ingredients that are required for success.
