EA to Close Multiple Online Servers
EA is one of the most active and successful producers and publishers on the market. Unfortunately, their games are not timeless games, and at times must be removed from online play to make room for the big boys.
With EA coming out with new games all the time, it only makes sense that they have to shut down some of the servers for their older games. As EA puts it, ” But as games get replaced with newer titles, the number of players still enjoying the older games dwindles below a point — fewer than 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles — where it’s feasible to continue the behind-the-scenes work involved with keeping these games up and running. ”
The shutdowns are quite feasible and something that will surely make EA able to focus on newer and more popular titles. The list of games to receive server shutdowns are:
