New, spoiler-ish info has surfaced about the upcoming update for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, dubbed “Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3”. A list of playable characters, amongst whom we’ll see some new faces has surfaced for the game that comes out on November 15.
At the recent comic-book gathering, Comic-Con 2011, Capcom let out some hints, perhaps a little too easily to suspect that it might of been on purpose. Yet whatever sly tricks are being played, we now know about the existence of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Just like with Super Street Fighter IV, this update of the 2D warfare between two fictional media monsters, Capcom & Marvel, is receiving some new trappings in a new retail package set for release in November 15. The most relevant change is the updated roster of fighters that adds 12 new combatants, including Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Phoenix Wright and the return of the fan favorite, Strider Hiryū.
The new full roster to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, pushing it to 50 overall, includes:
Capcom
- Strider – Strider, obviously
- Firebrand – Ghost ‘n Goblins
- Vergil – Devil May Cry
- Frank West – Dead Rising
- Phoenix Wright – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
- Nemesis – Resident Evil 3
Marvel
- Ghost Rider
- Dr Strange
- Nova –
- Rocket Raccoon
- Hawkeye
- Iron Fist
Other aspects Capcom has been working on include a more balanced gameplay (which was reportedly pretty bad in the original,) 8 new stages, improved online performance, and new modes and enhancements, like Spectator Mode, which allows players to watch live online matches.
These upgrades will be disc-only, and not for download, which is a pretty bad move by Capcom that leaves every gamer that already had bought the game with an old, useless copy. Are you ready to spend full price again, or are these upgrades not worth it?
