The year is about to end, and along with it comes a renewal of the games in the Xbox Live Games with Gold program. So, today marks the last chance to get a few freebies.
2015 has been a great year for Microsoft and the entire Xbox division. Even though this generation didn’t have quite the incredible beginning the previous one did, the Xbox One quickly stepped it’s game and became one of the best and more consumer friendly consoles in the market. We expect this trend to remain throughout 2016, with more features, exclusive titles, retrocompatible games and free games for our Xbox 360s and Xbox One. Yet, before the clock hits 12, there are quite a few games you can still snag from December 2015, and a few ones that will become available in a couple hours – this is truly gaming’s equivalent of double dipping.
Today, December 31st of 2015, marks the last day where you can get Sacred (Xbox One and Xbox 360) Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (Xbox One and Xbox 360) and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing (Xbox One) for free as a part of the Xbox Live Games with Gold Program. Thief for Xbox One is still going to be available for 15 more days while Castlestorm has been gone for some 15 days already.
Whatever the case may be, there are a lot of free games to look forward once the calendar turns, as right from the get-go, you will get access to Killer Instinct on Xbox One (all month long) and Dirt: Showdown (Xbox One and Xbox 360). Don’t forget, though, that in order to be eligible to claim these free games you need an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold – which is necessary anyways if you want to play games online or perform a lot of activities and tasks involving a network connection. A 12 month subscription costs at most $59.99 USD but deals are many and frequent, so you will rarely have to pay that much. For example, right now Amazon have a 12 month card on sale for $51.75, and it’s not rare for it to go on sale to around $40 USD too.
What games would you like to see as a part of the program? Are you looking forward to any of these particularly? Let us know all about it in the comments section.
