The first DLC package for Duke Nukem Forever will be making its way to Xbox 360 soon, and comes with bonus silly hats and a few jabs at Team Fortress 2.
The new DLC, dubbed the Hail to the Icons Parody Pack, will feature 4 new multiplayer maps and 3 new multiplayer game modes. So for all those of you (if there are any) who crave more Duke inspired shootouts, read on!
The four maps look like they will offer some variety and are clearly designed to poke fun at other first person shoots. The first map, Call of Duke, follows the usual level design aspects of a Call of Duty Modern Warfare map, with combat taking place in a wrecked urban Warzone.
The second map, Inferno, takes us to some glorified blazing hell pit in the vein of Doom, with cheesy 16 bit graphics. Next up is 2Forts1Bridge, a parody of the most popular Team Fortress 2 multiplayer map and lastly there is Sandpit, where shrunken Dukes blast around with Sticky Bombs and other nonsense.
The three new modes include Freeze Tag, Hot Potato and Hail to the King. Hot Potato involves hoarding as many babes on a given map as possible, and Hail to the king looks like it will be a free for all king of the Hill style mode.
The final addition to the pack will the the addition of silly hats for Duke to wear, kind of like all those hats for Team Fortress 2 that Valve offers everyone who orders their games. Will they matter at all? No, not really, but at least they’re free and silly.
The pack goes for 800 Microsoft points, and will be offered free to the First Access Club members who registered during the pre-order period.
Speaking of Valve, in other news Free Portal 2 DLC is coming to Xbox 360 and also be sure to check out this strange new Dreamcast like Controller coming to Xbox 360.
